We were delighted to take part in the International Chamber of Commerce’s “Make Climate Action Everyone’s Business Forum” at COP27, where our SVP, Strategic Partnerships Elyse Myrans spoke on a panel alongside representatives from UPS, Fairtrade International and ICC about how to best support SMEs through the Green Transition.
SMEs make up a significant portion of the global economy – more than 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment – so they need tailored solutions to support them on their sustainability journey.
One of the biggest obstacles SMEs face is gathering enough robust data, which may then be used to develop understanding of and a reduction in their impact on the environment. As you can’t manage what you don’t measure, solutions such as GIST Impact’s SME360X that simplify data collection and analysis are necessary to lower barriers to entry. We were pleased to speak alongside our partners at the ICC and UPS about our work with UPS’ Green Exporters Programme, putting words into actions.
